The Day After the Torch Run

Thank you all for sharing the excitement of yesterday’s ceremony. We spent at least two hours offering friends and strangers the opportunity to take photos of the Torch. Various photos are attached but there are also a few highlights of today. You can go to http://www.itv.com/itvplayer/video/?Filter=daybreak (for Tuesday 10 July –. The torch clips are (by their screen clock) at 6.01 and 7.14 (trailers), with the main item starting at 7.20 with you in it. It runs to about 7.28 including Tuesday morning’s bit with Sir Roger Bannister. What I like about Sir Roger is that he has become a friend of mine. He, of course, is known for breaking the four minute mile on the 6th May 1954. I saw him a few weeks back and assured him that I wouldn’t be breaking his record! I was also interviewed by BBC Oxford (let me know if you want the link!) and made page 3 of the Oxford Mail…which in England is a rather racy option in lesser publications. My favourite comment, however, came on a Facebook tag where a friend of a friend asked “who is Maureen O’Neill.” So many have wondered. Stay tuned for more updates. I am still pondering the wonder of the day.
